Scratchboard

The art technnique of scratchboard is using a sharp tool to scratch an image or whatever you choose onto black scratch paper.

Sgraffito art is decoration produced on pottery or ceramic by scratching through a surface of plaster or glazing to reveal a different color underneath.

These techniques are similar becasue they both use scratching to produce and image and reveal a different color underneath.

Murals

Murals can all be very similar, but each mural in the world is unique. Murals usually have meanings behind them that display what the paintings are about. All four of these murals use bright colors because brighter colors attract more people. The first mural is painted on a wall and looks basic. You can cleary see it is displaying African Americans and their equal rights. The second picture is a mural on shoes, which is very different from the other three. The third mural is on a wall and looks as if it is coming off of the all because the pictures look 3D. The last mural is very abstract. Although the objects are real, there are parts, like boys sitting in glasses, that is unrealistic. This approach could attract people because it is something you don't see everyday. Murals can be so different and different people like them all.
